The Best Halloween Costumes For Kids
Halloween is just around the corner and now is the time to start thinking about kids Halloween costumes. It does not have to cost very much for you to put together an outfit for your child, all you need is some imagination.
If you have girls you might be able to alter one of their dressing up outfits into a scary costume. Fairy dresses can be turned into witches dresses quite easily, use make up to make a witch's face and black out teeth.
To make a really easy ghosts costume for either a boy or girl, cut down a sheet so they don't trip over it, make a hole in the centre for heads to go through and let them loose on the face paint!
If you have slightly more grown up kids, you can buy realistic props like fangs for vampires, teeth blackening gel, plastic long witch's nails, pointy witch hats, green slime for monsters, eye patch's and other delights!
If you do not want to make an outfit or do not have time then they can be bought relatively cheaply from plenty of shops. Sometimes these can sell out quite quickly so once you start seeing them about grab it whilst you can.
It is easy to adapt boys normal clothes into costumes. Cut up old trousers so that they look scruffy and torn and do the same to an old shirt or t shirt. Capes can be bought or made. You can make a cape out of a clean black bin liner, or old dark sheet tied around their shoulders.
Letting older children paint their own face with a little bit of guidance from you would add to the fun and excitement for them. In many toy shops you can buy additional small items like pretend spiders, cobwebs and fake blood to make kids Halloween costumes more realistic.
